What is Coronavirus?

It is a large family of viruses that cause illness from common cold to more severe diseases such as MERS, SARS, and recently the nCoV. Scientists in China believe that Covid-19 has mutated into two strains, one more aggressive than the other, which could make developing a vaccine more complicated.

An Outbreak?

It hasn't been declared pandemic by WHO yet, but several countries have declared a state of emergencies as the virus is getting widespread rapidly. Let's have a look on the numbers of the virus since it started up until this moment.

The virus is rapidly spreading, YES, it affected large number of people across the globe YES. But, the percentage of deaths is only 6% which means it could be easily cured. So there is no need to panic! However, there is an urgent need to follow the instructions of the required precautions so that you stay away from the wave.

What Precautions Do You Need to Take?

As the telegraph wrote before "Hand hygiene is the first and most important line of defence." We can't emphasize this point enough!

People catch the virus when they touch their infected hands to their mouth, nose or eyes. The single most important thing you can do to protect yourself is to keep your hands clean by washing them frequently with soap and water or a hand sanitizing gel.

What Are the Symptoms that You Should Look out For?!

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the main symptoms of the coronavirus usually include:

  • A dry cough
  • A temperature
  • Tiredness
  • Shortness of breath (in more severe cases)

If you felt any of these symptoms we'd recommend to visit the nearest hospital and they will take care of you. If you felt any kind of fatigue in general:

  • Stay at home
  • Avoid public areas
  • Avoid public transport and taxis

Treatment?

So far, there hasn't been a clear, single method of treating the virus just like common cold. But, as we mentioned the percentage of cases who record full cure is huge so lets stay careful and hopeful.

The world is currently working on finding a vaccine for this virus as China shared the virus's genetic code.

Our final advise is to stay always updated, and most importantly follow a daily hygienic routine.

Stay healthy everyone,
